KVGCE Student won 2nd Place in Distinguished Engineer contest of Aspirations2020

Mr. Vijay Kaushik, 6th Semester Computer Science Student of KVGCE has won Second place(Runner up) in Distinguished Engineer Contest of Infosys Aspirations2020 contest series in zonal level contest held at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore. With this win, Mr. Kaushik will participate in the state level Distinguished Engineer Contest to be held at R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore on 9-5-2008. About 30 students from KVGCE have participated in Zonal level of various events such as Quiz, Paper presentation, Programming contest and Distinguished Engineer contest as part of Aspirations2020.

Research center sanctioned for Mechanical Engineering Department

Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum has recognised Mechanical Engineering Department of KVG College of Engineering, Sullia as the Research Center for pursuing Ph.D/M.Sc.(Engineering) from the academic year 2008-2009.

Dynamech 2008 a state level technical paper presentation contest, organized by Mechanical Engineering Association was held on 16th April 2008. Dr. Kurunji Venktramana Gowda, Founder President, AOLE, inaugurated the event. Dr. S.G. Gopala Krishna, Principal and President of MEA was presided over the function. Dr. N A Jnanesh, Vice principal & Head -Mechanical dept and convenor of Dynamech08, Prof. Thammegowda C.S., Assistant Professor, Mr. Prashanth T M, Lecturer, mechanical department were present on the occasion.


Prof. H D Ramesh, Professor & Head, Sapthagiri College of Engineering, Bangalore and Prof. Shrinivas H S, Professor, Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore were the Chief guests for the function. Dr. Govinda Bhat, Head-Physics, Mr. Sunil kumar M. Assistant Professor, Mr.Ravinarayan Bhat, Assistant Professor and Mr. Yogeesha H C, Assistant Professor, were the chair persons for the different sessions of paper presentation contest.

KVGCE joins EMC Academic Alliance, to offer a course in information storage technology.

KVGCE has signed an agreement with EMC (Benelux) B.V. SARL, a subsidiary of EMC Corporation, to join the EMC Academic Alliance Program (EAA) in IndiaAs part of EAA, KVGCE will receive vendor agnostic curriculum, course content, learning materials, faculty trainings and software simulators developed by EMC, to provide training to their students. EMC will also provide program support in terms of examination papers and sample assignments. Under EAA, EMC has forged alliances with over 75 education institutions across India. And today, more than 3000 students are enrolled in similar information storage courses across India as part of the EAA.

The EMC Academic Alliance is an initiative by EMC to work with the leading educational institutions around the world to address the emerging knowledge gap in storage technologies and developing a resource pool of skilled and certified storage professionals. This is the only program in the industry which offers a vendor neutral, product agnostic storage technology curriculum to the students. Glimpses of n'gage-IT-2008

n'gageIT'08 - National level paper presentation contest by the Departments of Computer Science and Information Science Engineering was held on 5 April 2008. About 45 papers were presented by the students from various Engineering Colleges from both Karnataka and outside Karnataka.

The contest was inaugurated by Mr. R Gopalakrishna, Director, Net Apps, Bangalore and Mr. Samir Ghatak, Infosys Technologies, Mangalore. Dr. S.G. Gopala Krishna, principal, KVGCE presided over the function. Prof. S S Balakrishna, Head CS E & President CENSA, and Prof. Ravikumar M S, Head, ISE were present on the occasion. Mr. Dinesh S, Mr. Balapradeep and Mr. Rajesh D S, the staff advisors and tresurers of CENSA were present on the dias.

The contest was simultneously held at both Auditorium and Seminar Hall. Prof. G.S. Shivakumar, Head-CSE, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore and Prof. Nagesh H R, Head - CSE, Sridevi Institute of Technology, Managlore, were the judges for this event from Academic Side. Mr. Roshan Kolar, Robosoft Technologies, Udupi and Mr. Samir Ghatak, Infosys Technologies, Mangalore were the judges from industry side.

The event was concluded with an Valedictory function. The function was chaired by Dr. S.G. Gopala Krishna, principal, KVGCE. Prof. Yogeesha H C., Assistant Professor-CSE, welcomed the gathering for the valedictory ceremony. Prof. Sudheer S, Assistant Professor - CSE, announced the winners of the competition. Dr. S.G. Gopala Krishna , Prof. S S Balakrishna, Head -CSE and Prof. M S Ravikumar, Head-ISE presented the prizes to the winners. Finally the event was concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. Uma Pare, Assistant Professor - CSE.
