VTU Inter Collegiate Yogasana Competition


VTU level Inter Collegiate Yogasana Competition was held on 26th and 27th of November 2007. Dr. Kurunji Venktramana Gowda, Founder President, AOLE, inaugurated the event. Dr. S.G. Gopala Krishna, Principal, KVGCE and Dr. N A Jnanesh, Vice Principal and Head of the Department, KVGCE were present on the occasion. Many participants from various colleges participated in the competition. Shri Sudheer Shetty, Co-ordinator of Sports and Shri Bhaskar Balegadde, Physical Director of KVGCE, co-ordinated the event.

Industry - Institute Initiative with CISCO



KVGCE and CISCO have intiated an Industry - Institute Interaction. In this connection, a preliminary meeting was held between Mr. Yashwanth N.N., a representative from Cisco with Principal, Dr. S.G. Gopalakrishna and members of staff. The HOD's of various departments, TPO Mr Vishwantha Shastry and members of staff were present in the meeting. The meeting discussed the various proposals for Academic Intiatives and support required from CISCO towards bridging the gap between students skillsets with skill set requirement of the industries.

Principal with TPO's meet at KVGCE



A meeting of Principals with TPO's of Managlore Region Engineering Colleges has been held at KVG College of Engineering, Sullia on 19-11-2007 at 10.00 am. Dr. Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda, Founder President, AOLE, presided over the meeting. Dr. S.G. Gopalakrishna, principal, KVGCE, welcomed the gathering. Principal from PA College of Engineering and Training and Placement Officers of VCET Puttur, Canara Engineering College Bantawal, SJEC, Mangalore, Anjuman Engineering College Bhatkal, CIT Coorg and Moodalakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura have attended the meeting. Mr. Viswantha Shastry, TPO, KVGCE, thanked the gathering and summarized meeting proceedings. Heads of Various Departments of KVGCE were also present on the occasion.

The meeting formely discussed the development of the website for Combined placement team of Managlore region Engineering Colleges and discussed the suggestions for improvement of the website of Combined Placement Team Mangalore Region Engineering Colleges i.e. http://www.mangaloreregionplacements.org/ .

Kannada Rajyothsava at KVGCE, Sullia.




KVG college of Engineering has celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava on 14th and 15th November 2007 at KVG Playground , Kurujibagh, Sullia. Dr.Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda, Founder President , Academy of Liberal Education, Sullia presided over the function. Shri K.R Gangadhar, Shri Garthikere Raganna and Shri Umesh Kasaravalli, were the guest of honour.

On 14th November, National Award Winner, Shri K.R. Gangadhar, Principal, Nehru memorial Pre-University college, Aranthodu, Sullia, has been felicitated by Dr. KVG.

"Karnataka Kala Tilaka", State Award Winner & Karnataka Sangeetha Nritya Academy Award winner Shri. Garthikere Raganna and Shri. Umesh Kasaravalli, noted Ranga Nirdeshaka , were honoured on this occasion. Dr. S.G. Gopalakrishna, Principal, KVGCE, and office bearers of Students Association, KVGCE, were present on the dias.

The function was followed by melodious songs by Sri. Garthikere Raganna and variety entertainment programme from the students of KVG College of Engineering.

In continuation of the Rajyothsava celebrations, on 15th November, "IDL Blind Music Band" from Bangalore, performed orchestra. The music band consisted of 15 blind persons and they gave a wonderful musical entertainment to the audience. The function was followed by Prize distribution to the winners of Rajyothsava Sports and other competitions.
